Elliptic Labs Launching the AI Virtual Proximity Sensor™ on vivo’s S50 and S50 Pro Mini Smartphones

Oslo, Norway — Elliptic Labs’ AI Virtual Proximity Sensor INNER BEAUTY^® has been launched on vivo’s S50 and S50 Pro Mini smartphones, bringing reliable AI-powered proximity performance while enabling cleaner front-facing designs and reduced hardware complexity.

Both the S50 and S50 Pro Mini have launched and are shipping in China.

To deliver this experience, vivo is running Elliptic Labs’ AI software on leading chipsets across its lineup:

S50: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
S50 Pro Mini: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

By replacing traditional hardware sensors with a software-only approach, vivo gains greater flexibility in industrial design and the ability to streamline internal components — while maintaining robust proximity performance for calls and everyday use.

Elliptic Labs announced the contract for this deployment in January 2025, and shipments are now underway.
